BANGKOK IMPACT
Bangkok Impact is the nom de disco of a multi-monikered producer Sami Liuski. Originally from northern Finland but currently residing in Berlin he has produced and released tracks for almost a decade now. With his Bangkok Impact guise, Sami is exploring his love to early disco combining it with more modern styles of dance music.
Sami has a lot of records under his belt (and couple of albums too) mainly on dutch labels Crème Organization and Clone Records. Sami has played live around the globe and also made remixes and tracks for as varied labels as Cocoon Recordings, Viewlexx, Get Physical, Ministry of Sound, DFA Records etc.
The story started in 2001, when working under the pseudonym 8-Bit Rockers, Sami sent dutch label Bunker Records a demo which they swiftly released as a 12-inch. The same year Sami sent Bunker another demo featuring tracks by his other aliases, Lolita Strap and Bangkok Impact. The Bunker crew were so impressed with Sami's playful and inventive neo-disco sound that they instantly released it on their new label Crème Organization. During the following years Sami released steady flow of 12-inches and also Bangkok Impact's debut album 'Traveller'. Sami's other project 'Putsch '79', a New York disco-style collaboration with pal Pauli Jylhänkangas, also gained international recognition.
