NHJ first began DJing on graveyard AM radio, performing strange and bizarre audio operations for an audience of insomniacs, communists and hippies. Almost 15 years later and his mix of grumpy disco, psychadelic house, freaked out bass jams and soundtracks to the female body is still as incoherent as ever.

Residencies and regular appearances at some of Australia’s best and worst parties and clubs range from electronix showcase ‘Meccanoid’, underground clubbing institution ‘Sunny’, the dark electro/industrial fetish party ‘Hell’, experimental night 'Branedance', seedy after-hours like Melbourne's Revolver and Spice in Sydney, the infamous Honkytonks ladies toilet and the backroom of Australia’s most fluorescent house nights, ‘Onelove’ and 'Bang Gang' Recent tours include Singapore and Bangkok, tours with the Creme Organization in the USA and Europe, including The Hague's 'Today's Art' festival in NL, Belgium, France, Poland's 'Unsound Festival' and Spain as a participant of the Red Bull Music Academy. Australian festival appearences inclunding ‘Rainbow Serpent’, ‘Earthcore’, ‘Two Tribes’ and ‘Sunshine People’, NHJ has hosted radio shows and guest spots on Triple J, 3PBS, RRR, Straight Up, Kiss FM, Intergalactic FM, Kink FM (Holland), Campus (France) & Radiofonia (Poland).

Involved in everything from organising local events and touring artists, writing for local magazines, Jan established the M Division record label in 2008 which also feature some of his collaborations.
